Bereavement Friends is a compassionate service from Seaton & District Hospital League of Friends, dedicated to supporting people who are experiencing grief & loss. Losing someone close can feel overwhelming & isolating, but no one should have to face that journey alone.

Our twice-monthly group in the Kingfisher Centre brings people together in a safe and understanding environment where individuals can share their experiences with others who understand what they are going through. For those who enjoy the outdoors and connecting with nature, we offer gentle local walks where you can stroll and chat with others, take in points of interest along the way and rest at places to reflect.

Walks are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month starting at 9:45am from Seaton Tesco Plaza, followed by refreshments at the Kingfisher Centre. Refreshments are also open to non-walkers.

In addition to group support, Bereavement Friends also offers one-to one sessions with trained volunteers. Our volunteers provide a confidential, caring and quiet space where individuals can talk openly about their feelings and emotions. Their role is to listen, offer understanding, and provide gentle support to those navigating their journey.

Bereavement Friends aim is simple: to ensure that anyone experiencing bereavement has someone to talk to, someone who will listen, and a community that understands.
