On Friday 3rd October we officially opened the doors to our brand-new Kingfisher Centre in Queen Street, Seaton (formally the old library).
The space has been transformed into a new centre to further expand the services offered, by the League of Friends, for the local community.
Our established Community Bereavement Support Groups have relocated to the new location. New groups will follow, including further Bereavement focused offerings, Memory Café and Friends in the Community sub-groups, a board games group and Friends Friday which will be part of our new Befriending Service. The League of Friends Information Hub, previously located in The Counting House (the old HSBC bank) has also relocated to our new premises.
The building has good access, a range of rooms and great workable space to accommodate our different groups. We will also hold informal sessions and training to support our volunteers. The wider community will be invited into the new space regularly to educate about the services the League offers, signpost to support and encourage involvement through volunteering and fundraising.
We hope that you will share in our excitement with this new development, strengthening our reach and capabilities to support the local community in Seaton and the surrounding areas.
